Gin is great. We love it. We mean we really love it. Making gin is not just a job to us, it’s a passion.
Under the guidance of our qualified and helpful Ginstructor, we’ll talk you through the history of gin and distilling; the importance of juniper and other botanicals; how to develop the perfect gin profile; and finally get you to become an actual distiller. You’ll select your own fresh and dried botanicals from our extensive bar – there’s no blending or infusing of gins here and we certainly don’t use any artificial flavourings or colours.
IT’S PROPER DISTILLING, FOR PROPER GIN LOVERS!
The session starts with a well earned Two Birds gin & tonic and a welcome introduction from one of our Ginstructors. All of our Ginstructors are fully trained distillers and work in our main distillery daily. They will be on hand to answer any questions you have about Two Birds gin and distilling.
TWO BIRDS SPIRITS
You’ll be introduced to some of our award-winning Two Birds Spirits and have the opportunity to sample our flagship collection of handcrafted gins and vodkas. We’ll also take you on a quick tour around the main distillery where you can see the stills we use to produce our products.
We’ll guide you through the important role botanicals play in the profile of gins and then set you free on our botanicals bar where we have over 50 different botanicals to choose from to help build your artisan gin. But don’t worry, our experienced Ginstructor will be on hand to help guide you through the process to make sure you end the day with something drinkable!
Once you’ve selected your ingredients and your stills are gently bubbling away, we’ll talk you through the fascinating history of gin and distilling from its early days as ‘genever’. We’ll also discuss the different styles of gin with plenty of samples on-hand to help.
NAME YOUR GIN
When the distillation process is complete, it’s time to cut your gin back to a more accommodating drinking strength, then bottle, label and name your new hand crafted gin.
